About my home
Before setting up my daycare, I was a registered general nurse for over 17 years. My experience and skills in caring and nursing are now used to create a caring and nurturing environment for children. Children will participate in a range of indoor and outdoor activities incorporating both languages to develop a wide range of skills.
*This year Les Asterix will be closed for Bank Holidays, 2 weeks in September and 2 weeks during Chritmas/New Year time. This will be discussed with parents/guardians during home visits.

Asterix is a famous French comic cartoon character. Asterix is smart, clever, funny, honnest and brave. His charisma can be found in any young person. This is the reason I named my daycare: Les Asterix. Inspired by Les Asterix, each week's activities and learning will be inspired by an aspect of Asterix's adventures to provide a fun space for the children to explore topics such as history, geography, mythology, a respect for nature and much more.
Bilingual
The Department of Education states that the benefits of bilingualism are something children will carry with them for the rest of their life. To encourage bilingualism in the children, I will divide the day into sessions: sessions in English and sessions in French, enabling the children to control and balance both languages. At Les Asterix Daycare offers an exciting, engaging and low cost way for your child to learn and to maintain French and English. At £8.0per hour, rates compare favourably with alternative online bilingual tuition or bilingual nurseries.
Learning and development Program indoors and outdoors
My learning and development program enables children to grow self-confidence/self-awareness, to interact with others and to understand the world around them. Indoor activities: I have created a welcoming, warm and bright environment for children to feel safe, comfortable and at home to play and have fun. Children will draw, paint, build & design various art projects, dance, play music, act and be introduced to literacy and maths. Outdoor activities: my garden is an aera for messy activities such as outdoor painting, playing with water & mud or exploring gardening. Additional activities include visiting parks, the farm, treasure hunt activities, running/walking and cycling in country lanes, exercising in playgrounds, trips to Aylesbury centre and an annual trip to Calais with parents & children
Settling in sessions and funded hours
Les Asterix accepts funded hours during term time from Monday to Friday and settling in sessions.
