About this home
About our tiney childminder
I'm passionate about helping children develop life skills and a deep interest in the world around them. We spend lots of time exploring the outdoors. Children particularly love our bug hotel, mud kitchen and fairy garden!
When we're indoors, we combine structured activities with plenty of 'choosing time' so that children can develop their interests and independence. We enjoy coming together for meal times - even the youngest in my care! Home cooked meals are made every day and on Fridays we enjoy special pancakes.
Unique highlights
I speak both English and Estonian
I find learning languages fascinating and we prioritise the development of children's speaking and listening skills, which underpins their learning in other areas of the curriculum.
I have many years of experience working with children.
Alongside being mum to my two year old son, I have also worked as an au pair.
Fostering language development and communication through music
I have sung in choirs and bring my love of song and musical instruments into our daily routines. It develops children's musical ear, whilst expanding their listening and communication - and having a lot of fun along the way!

I am a 10 minute walk away from the local library and two large parks: Downhills and Lordship. I am a 20 minute walk away from the Walthamstow Wetlands and the local Riding School where the children can watch and learn about the horses.

Our son loves being at Helen’s, he’s always happy to be arriving. I think he loves the variety of toys and activities at Helen’s, including arts & crafts (which we don’t do much at home, but we should!) It’s probably a good thing that he has another adult in his life who is explaining things or setting boundaries, and isn’t a parent (it helps reinforce those messages, as well as teaching him new skills!). We feel very lucky that our son is so happy and settled.
