I have been working within the Early Years sector since 2004 and am dedicated to raising happy, confident and independent learners. I am qualified and experienced to support children with additional needs.
I'm a warm, affectionate mother and educator who supports children to be curious. Having gained experience through the Montessori approach, I adapt play and learning by structuring activities for the interests of your child, using appropriate resources, language and by building a relationship based on trust.
My tiney home is close to lots of lovely green spaces where children can enjoy daily outdoor walks, rain or shine, and explore nature.
Our meal times are always calm, orderly and unstressed moments in the day where rich conversation is enjoyed. We can learn here too, by using language to describe the shape, texture or colour of food. Expert menus tailored to your child’s needs.
I believe experience of the outdoors helps children to deepen their understanding of the world and enrich their language. We have plenty of beautiful, natural areas nearby to spark little imaginations.
I love to read stories that keep children focused and engaged. “Words are beautiful things, they hold meaning and they give us power to express meaning. Words are keys to unlock the world. Every time we read a book to a child, we are holding out a new box of interesting keys for them to collect.” Meghan Cox-Gurdon, author of 'The Enchanted Hour: The Miraculous Power of Reading Aloud in the Age of Distraction'
Years of being an educator , I experienced how sensory play helps children in strengthening their brain development, language development, fine and gross motor skills (talking about textures they feel), problem solving skills, cognitive skills, social interactions, awareness, comfort and adapating to new situations
I live very close to Tottenham Hale Station, surrounded by peaceful green local parks alongside the banks of River Lea.
Locally, I have access to the sprawling Walthamstow Wetlands Nature Reserve where reservoirs and marshes are home to kingfishers, falcons and butterflies. Also within close proximity is 'The Paddock', another unique ecological setting.
My tiney home is close to Tottenham Hale Retail Park so is a great option for parents working there.

“I found Jessica to be supportive and always willing to help in whatever capacity. Not only would she encourage her own child she would often provide educational and emotional encouragement to children whose parents could not attend therefore building their confidence and ensuring they are fully engaged and access learning.”

“My daughter will be attending Jessica's Tiney nursery full-time from September. In the run up Jessica established a thorough and thoughtful settling in programme. As a first time parent and social worker I was anxious to find the right setting for my child. Jessica has been so welcoming and playful. My daughter has quickly bonded with Jessica and has settled so well in the sessions. Jessica set up fun activities every time such as water play and painting! Jessica ensures she gives us written and photo updates. Crucially, there is a warm and family atmosphere in the home. I couldn't be more happy with our choice.”

“Jessica Akude is a professional, devoted and responsible carer who provides a positive happy and comfortable setting for the children she looks after. My daughter Isabella always looks forward to going to Jessica's nursery all the way until the end of the day. Jessica is very attentive of her learning needs and development skills across all areas and will document Isabella's journey and progress. I also appreciate her end of day feedback where she briefs me on Isabella's day. Kind Regards Caroline Rodriguez-Pabon”

“Jessica is a brilliant childminder. She is the first childminder we have had and it didn't take long for our daughter to settle into Jessica's environment and become excited to see her. She is very welcoming and caring. There are lots of activities both indoor and outdoor and Jessica keeps us updated promptly with pictures and notes. Our daughter eats healthy and comes back very happy and having learnt new things. I have seen such development in my daughter since she has been attending and would highly recommend Jessica to other parents. Nana”
