About my home

My aim is for your child to be welcomed as part of the family, and feel that coming here is an opportunity for lots of exciting play that supports fun, learning and independence. We are a very creative and crafty house inspired by the Montessori and Reggio philosophies and a love of the outdoors. I have a degree in Psychology and Anthropology, and have always worked in the childcare and education sectors, initially as a nursery and teachers assistant to most recently recruiting for schools

Unique highlights

We love books!

We love to read, curled up in a cosy corner sharing a book and engaged in adventure! I grew up in Botswana, and have lived all around the world, so learning about different cultures, languages and festivals is very important to me and our books and songs reflect this.

Outdoors everyday!

We are outside and exploring our natural environment everyday. We have a lovely big garden to play in, from discovering bugs and mini beasts to making potions in the mud kitchen. Being active and looking after our bodies is important and we spend a lot of time running, climbing and jumping in muddy puddles.

Creative and Crafty

Our day is filled with lots of exciting play and our home is bright and welcoming; from the kitchen with its big table for crafting, the long hallway for rainy day hopscotch and jumping, to the tardis like living room with extensive open ended toys to engage the senses. Every child learns differently and our home is a safe and nurturing space to explore.

Mealtimes are a time for sharing!

We love to cook and mealtimes are about so much more than food, they are a time to sit together and chat about our day. I have two very hungry toddlers so we spend a lot of time in the kitchen with the kids getting involved in laying the table, prepping and baking. Practical life activities help our children to care for themselves and the environment.

tiney book club

Sharing books is at the heart of all tiney home nurseries – it’s fantastic for children’s imaginations, for building vocabulary, for speaking and listening, for personal, social and emotional development, and so much more. Through our partnerships with Walker Books and the National Literacy Trust, our childminders run creative activities around a wonderfully diverse range of books.
