Our home is warm, calming, spacious and Montessori inspired. We have a large living and dining room with various areas of resources to explore. We also have an ample sized garden with: a decking area, a herb and vegetable patch, a good sized lawn and a climbing frame with swings. Our garden backs onto an open field occupied by our “furry friends” - the ponies, donkeys and horses. We have street and private parking spaces available.

About this home
About our tiney childminder
I offer a well rounded home(pre)school experience. It is my aim for our children to feel valued, nurtured and secure. Along with creating a “home from home” setting, I aim to prepare our little ones for full-time education. To do this, I cater to their individual learning styles to support them to be confident little learners.
I have 10 years experience working within Primary School and Early Years Education, a degree in Drama and a Level 3 certificate in Place2Be ‘Child Counselling Skills’.
Unique highlights
Performing Arts
I have a degree in drama and training in performing arts. I also had a role as assistant director for Watford Palace Theatre’s teens community project. I use these skills to benefit the children’s learning experience, creating worlds of play for them to enter into. Performing arts is also a way of boosting confidence in children as they discover different ways of movement and expression. At the end of term, I will create performances for the parents to watch their little ones shine.
Growing Food
Along with having access to an allotment, we have a little area for growing food in our garden. It is very beneficial for children to understand where our fruits and vegetables come from. This unlocks another level of appreciation and understanding of the world. The children will have the opportunity to grow food from seeds and nurture them into fully grown vegetables that they can take home and share with family. It will fill them up with pride to know that they grew their own food and get to eat it with you.
Little People vs. Big Feelings
Through the day “check-ins” are something we practice to encourage the children to acknowledge and express how they may be feeling throughout the day. Equipping children with vocabulary and tools to navigate emotions helps them to build healthy connections and communication in the future. We use a “I am feeling...” resource created by me, to provide them with a few examples and strategies to choose from to help regulate/co-regulate big feelings.
