tiney is on a mission to unlock the potential of every child.

Our Story

Brett Wigdortz OBE formed tiney after 15 years leading Teach First, a charity that has worked with over a million children at primary and secondary school age. As a parent of three, he personally experienced how challenging it is to find great childcare that’s also flexible and affordable.

He decided to do something about it. Together with experienced early years educators, nationally distinguished safeguarding leads and digital tech experts, tiney was born!

Our mission

We’re training up a new wave of fantastic early years educators to give more children a great start in life...and reinventing childcare in the process. We believe that a great early education can be life changing. Our mission is to make the highest quality childcare accessible to more families, and to empower a generation of micro-entrepreneurs to deliver amazing care from their own homes.

Our team

We’re a fast growing and talented team with diverse experiences, backgrounds and skills. To build tiney we’ve bought together people who’ve previously done amazing things in both education and tech.

Amongst our number are people who’ve headed up safeguarding at national organisations, written leading books on Education, helped shape Early Years policy with Ofsted and the Department for Education, built global technology products and grown national communities within the childcare sector.

We’ve worked hard to develop a set of shared beliefs that unite our team and set the tone for our home nurseries.

We believe that:

Every day we can earn trust.

Rest is rocket fuel.

Play is a super power.

Curious minds see more.

Asking for help shows wisdom, not weakness.

You grow stronger after a fall.

Building a b-corp

tiney is a pre-registered b-corp, meaning we’re commited to building a business that is a force for good. b-corp status gives us a north star for the type of business we want to grow in to, and places us alongside a global movement of other companies already working to benefit society.

We believe that high quality Early Years Education is one of the most high impact ways to positively change society. At tiney we’re super-charging that pathway, not only by impacting children, but by enabling a new generation of amazing educators to choose childcare as their career.

What are others saying about tiney?

I am really excited about the difference tiney is making. As well as improving access to great childcare for parents, tiney's model also offers families a chance to start a business that actually balances work with family time, which makes it truly unique.
