We've got some exciting news for all of our registered childminders - at the end of this month we’ll be launching the tiney Book Club with this warm and wonderful modern classic: So Much, by Trish Cooke.

Thanks to our partnerships with the National Literacy Trust and Walker Books, our community will be receiving a copy of the book, along with some materials to spark some crafty fun in their tiney homes (including a sign for their very own tiney library). We’re also launching a special So Much section within tiney tips on our app, and we’ll be challenging our tiney childminders to share their activities with us on Instagram to help us get our first ever book club off to a flying start.

Over the coming months, we’ll be sending our community more fantastic books to build up their tiney libraries, and each one with a range of suggested activities to extend children’s learning.

Books contain whole worlds in them, and stories are a powerful way to fuel great conversations, rich play and learning. We hope our community will enjoy exploring these books together, knowing that children in tiney home nurseries across London will be sharing the same adventures!

‘A miraculous alchemy occurs when one person reads to another, transforming the simple stuff of a book, a voice and a bit of time into a complex and powerful fuel for the heart, brain and imagination.’ Meghan Cox Gurdon, The Enchanted Hour

Laura taught at a primary school in London before joining Teach First, where she trained and coached new teachers and worked on curriculum design. She then worked for the RSA (a think tank and membership organisation), where she led the team that supported a community of 30,000 members around the world. As a mum, she's passionate about messy play and just noodling about exploring stuff. She's also (slowly) working on an illustrated book for children.
