About tiney
At tiney, we’re on a mission to unlock the potential of every child by revolutionising early years education.
We believe all children deserve access to high-quality, nurturing, play-based learning — and that the best way to make this happen is by empowering a new generation of brilliant childminders. Using technology, community, and creativity, we’re building a network of early educators who are trained, supported, and backed by a system designed to help them (and the children they care for) truly thrive.
Founded in 2018 by an experienced team with backgrounds at Teach First, Teach For All, graze.com and 383, tiney is a software-driven childcare company with ~100 employees. We’ve raised over £12m from top European VCs, and we’re already a top 5 childcare provider in the UK by childcare places — processing over £1m in payments every month.
🚀 In 2024, we were recognised as the 86th fastest growing start-up in the UK & Ireland, and we’re proud to be shortlisted for the Global EdTech Prize.
Our ambition? To move into the top 3, expand internationally, and build the world’s first home-based childcare operating system.
Our Values
🎈 Play is a superpower – Curiosity, joy, and creativity fuel innovation.
🌱 Rest is rocket fuel – We look after ourselves and each other to sustain impact.
🤝 Asking for help shows wisdom – Vulnerability and openness are strengths.
👶 Children at the core – Our policies and decisions support the whole person.
💬 Default to transparency – Trust comes from openness and honesty.
The Role
We’re looking for a Childminder Learning & Development Lead to join our remote-first UK team. You will lead the continuous professional development (training and coaching) that helps childminders deliver outstanding practice, thriving businesses, and fulfilling careers in order to achieve tiney’s mission of unlocking the potential of every child. Work closely with tiney childminders, the consultant network, and the quality and community teams to ensure training priorities are evidence-led and meet the needs of the community.
Responsibilities
Own the CPD calendar and content library, ensuring training is well-planned, current, and impactful.
Develop, design and deliver learning for childminders using a range of approaches that enable them to support the ongoing development of the children in their care and help tiney childminders grow their business and careers.
Create high-quality learning content, tools and resources efficiently, using tech and AI and in collaboration with the design and product teams, as well as external experts as needed.
Build and collaborate with a network of consultants and experts to broaden the scope of learning provision.
Distribute training and coaching effectively to engage all our audiences (trainees, new and experienced childminders, as well as parents). Leverage all channels available to use e.g. app, hub, live sessions, email, chat, and in-person events.
Support community coaches with frameworks, mentoring resources, and ongoing guidance.
Ensure CPD reflects inclusive practice, including SEND-focused training and resources.
Work closely with product, design, and customer success to embed learning into the wider tiney experience.
Analyse insights from quality assurance and compliance data to spot trends, inform the planning of new training, evaluate effectiveness, and drive improvements to existing content and delivery.
Gather and interpret feedback from childminders, community coaches, consultants, and the wider community to identify emerging needs and shape the design of new training priorities and resources.
Requirements
Extensive experience designing and delivering adult training and coaching to diverse audiences.
Deep knowledge of EYFS, child development, and childminding practice.
Passionate about and confident in experimenting with new tools and approaches, including AI, and excited to explore how they can be used to create engaging and efficient learning materials.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and feedback to identify priorities and measure impact.
Exceptional project management skills and ability to run complex, multi-channel programmes.
Advanced qualifications in pedagogy, teaching, or early years education (e.g. a degree or higher-level certification), with deep expertise in how children and adults learn.
Experience collaborating across teams (product, QA, community) and managaing external partnerships, consultants or expert networks.
Good understanding of inclusive practice and SEND support in the early years.
