About this home

A nature led tiney home, with a secure sunny garden, dedicated vegetable patch, a mud kitchen and tuff trays for messy play experiences. We also go on regular expeditions into the woods to explore, discover and climb.

Not only do we spend time outdoors each day but we also enjoy our creative experiences and projects. Time is dedicated daily to child led, free play experiences, reading books and we have a large range of toys and resources on offer for children to engage with and to enjoy.

About our tiney childminder

Hello! My name is Helen and I’ve been working in Early Years for 16 years. I have worked in 2 nurseries, as a regional Quality and SEND support and as a member of an academic and research team for a childcare company.

I am passionate about play and learning outdoors and have lots of ideas to spark children’s imaginations and interests.

I am very enthusiastic about promoting speech and language development and fostering this fundamental area through engagement with music, stories and baby sign.

Unique highlights

Exciting garden

Our sunny garden has a dedicated vegetable patch and last year my 5 year old grew 15 pumpkins all by himself! We have a little pretend digger and lots of gardening tools to develop our motor skills and enjoyment of gardening with. We also have a mud kitchen, tubes and tunnels for water play, tuff trays for messy play activities and a grassy area for games.

Messy play

We love messy play experiences! Each day tuff trays will be set up in the garden (along with the mud kitchen) with sand, water, mud pies, science experiences, small world scenes, natural materials and so on. We also enjoy lots of painting and art and craft experiences both indoors and out.

Pets

We have a garden rabbit called Frankie who loves to be fed vegetables and being given fresh water each morning. We also have a chocolate Labrador called Myla. Myla enjoys coming out for the occasional walk in the woods with us but mostly enjoys snoozing, in her bedroom upstairs.

In this neighbourhood

We are less than a 10 minute walk from Deadwater Valley Nature Reserve, to Shipwrights Way, a children’s play park and to a toddler group; so we like to get out and about each morning playing and exploring in our local community/ natural play space. We are also a short drive to Alice Holt, Hogmoor and Bordon Inclosure. We are a 20 minute walk to the library.
