About our tiney childminder
I am a warm, friendly person with a down to earth approach to childcare. I'm calm and patient with a great level of literacy and communication skills. I have 3 older daughters who live with me and my husband. I have worked as a teaching assistant in mainstream schools for many years.
Working with children is what I love and enjoy the most and I feel privileged to offer quality care and high level education to every child. I live in a multicultural community and welcome families from all ethnicities, embracing diversity and inclusion.
Unique highlights
Cooking
I love cooking and developing new, exciting recipes. This will be displayed in my service, as I will provide fresh and healthy home cooked (halal) meals. This will be catered around childrens specific needs and backgrounds. Children will enjoy getting involved in food preparation and baking, to develop new, easy cooking skills. They will also learn about the importance of nutrition and diet through practical and interactive activities in the kitchen.
Outdoor space
I live in a spacious 3 bedroom house with a large private garden. This garden has a grass area and a large patio space for children to run around and explore outdoor learning. The majority of activities will be set in this garden, such as outdoor sports games, creative art work and nature-based learning activities.
Phonics
I have several years experience in teaching phonics to early years as a teaching assistant in primary schools. As a qualified teaching assistant, I have gained exemplorary knowledge and experience around the Read Write Inc. Phonics program. I have led groups of lower ability children in this programme and have seen their increased progression in reading and writing. I will, therefore, be implementing this teaching programme in my setting. I look forward to teaching phonics in a fun and interactive way at home. This will be done through singing and dancing to make phonics exciting.

In this neighbourhood
I live in South-East Lewisham, a diverse area offering lots of natural and fun attractions for children. Beckenham place park is our large local park and is a 10 minute walk from my house. This park has interactice attractions like a nature walk for children to explore and learn about wildlife. This park also offers planting activities where children can learn about plants and flowers. The park has a large and safe early years play area and a lake. As well as the park, we have a great library with a wide variety of children books and quiet area for children to read. Bellingham has a soft play group centre, which is a 10 minute walk from my house.
