About our tiney childminder

Hello I'm Jodie, I am passionate about early years education and creating magical meaningful learning for the children in my care. I have a PGCE with a specialism in early years, with over 15 years experience teaching children. I have two lovely children of my own. A 2 year old who loves being outside and doing everything for himself and a 5 year old who loves pretending and making. I offer a playful, hands-on, creative curriculum led by children's curiosities and fascinstions.

Unique highlights

Passion and expertise

I love creating exciting learning opportunities for children through singing, stories, pretending, making and getting messy! I have experience supporting children learning English as a second language and children with Special Educational Needs. I am confident in a range of techniques and strategies to support learners including Makaton PECs and Attention Autism.

Outdoor Learning

We have a lovely garden with a range of challenging equipment including; a trampoline, swing, climbing tower and slide. We have a mud kitchen and opportunities for water play, digging, gardening, and using wheeled toys. Using my experience of the forest school approach, we will explore nature, the world around us and skills connected to this.

Independence and Problem Solving

Children will be encouraged to develop independence and responsibilities throughout their day. The environment and routine is designed so that children are able to solve problems and develop essential life skills. They are encouraged to get ready for outings, chop up their own snack, pour their own drinks, sweep up after themselves and decide how to dress for the weather. They will be encouraged to think of ideas, solve problems and come up with ways to resolve conflict in their play.

What others are saying about this home...

Mr and Mrs H

We moved to Bristol in August 2023 and our two daughters started in childcare with Jodie. Jodie has been so helpful in helping our girls to settle into her setting and our eldest daughter into school. She shows real sensitivity and care in caring for the children, engages them in fun activities that are relevant to their ages and sets appropriate boundaries. We have been particularly pleased with the variety of activities. The children are engaged in indoor and outdoor play, go to local toddler groups and have trips out to other interesting educational centres e.g. M shed and an exhibition all about bird sounds. Jodie is very organised with admin, with preparing and cooking food for the children and communicates brilliantly with us as parents.
