About my home

My family is at the heart of everything I do! As a mum of 3 children aged 10, 5 & 2 I have experienced first hand what it’s like to juggle a working life with family life. This is why I set up ACE tiney home nursery. I’m extremely passionate about providing a loving, inspiring environment that focuses on each child & their individual needs. Children are encouraged to learn through play based activities, that allows them to be creative & independent whilst letting me offer my guidance & support.

Unique highlights

Inspiring Environment

My home is a warm, loving, spacious and playful environment that we share with our dog and cat. We have a large open plan home that allows me to see and be with the children at all times. I am truly passionate about free play and providing a mixture of activities and resources. I offer well balanced, healthy home cooked meals and love on occasions getting the children to help with the preparation and making of meals. Baking is also a big love of mine and has been passed down to me by my grandparents. I too want to pass this on to the next generation!

Mix of resources and approaches

At ACE tiney home nursery there is a real mixture of activities, resources & approaches. I believe that every child learns differently & should be encouraged to explore & express their unique interests. We have puzzles, animal toys, natural materials, real-world items, cars, construction blocks, arts & crafts, a play kitchen, ride on cars diggers & scooters, imaginative tuff trays, all sorts of mark-making opportunities, gardening, mud play, messy play & so much more. Learning about different cultures, religions, festivals & food is also an important part of what we do on a daily basis

Makaton trained

I am currently level 1 Makaton trained, and very passionate about using this form of language and communication. I have seen first hand how learning and communicating using Makaton has helped young children’s speech and vocabulary develop. I plan to extend my knowledge and training in this area and I use signs daily in my setting with the children.

Large Garden with dedicated play area

At ACE tiney home nursery we have our very own park in the garden! My home offers a large open plan garden with dedicated play area, climbing frame with swings and slides. We have a trampoline, 2 play houses, homemade mud kitchen, outside blackboard, sand pit, water table and lots of outside toys and games. We also have a dedicated vegetable patch Where children can help plant and grow seasonal fruit and vegetables. Our garden has been set up to be a playful inspiring and fun space.

Daily outings

I have a real love for being outside and take daily trips to local playgroups, libraries, parks and Gardens. My home is very close to Horsell common, Wisley Gardens, Painshill Park and many more great local attractions. I take the children out on a daily basis and believe that being out and about, experiencing a number of different places and activities, helps children learn and understand the world around them. It also helps them build the social, emotional and educational skills they will need in the future.

I couldn’t think of anyone better to look after our little boy! Jo is unbelievably welcoming, friendly and so amazing with our little one. Her loving and caring nature is exactly what we want for our little boy. Her home nursery is truly inspiring and she always puts the children’s best interests and learning at the heart of everything does. Jo is genuinely passionate about children being given the best start in life. As a mother, she is dedicated to ensuring her children are given lots of different opportunities and is a real ambassador of learning through play. Jo is an extremely positive person and highly organised. Jo has supported me by caring for my children. I always know when my children are with Jo, they are in a safe, fun, happy, environment. Jo is very nurturing and I have no doubt that any child in her care will thrive and will get involved in a host of enjoyable activities.

Jo has looked after both my 1year old and my 7year old and I find her to be kind, trustworthy, professional and responsive to all their needs. She has a natural ability to put people at ease and her home is a welcoming, warm and friendly environment. Jo is creative and engaging with the children offering a variety of toys, games and activities to stimulate their development in natural way. She always has time for parents and is happy to chat, offer advice and help or just to listen. I would highly recommend her to anyone and am 100% confident my children are in good safe hands while in her care.
