Lucy lockets is an open plan fun, warm and welcoming setting located on Stonyfield. My setting is open 7.30am - 6pm, 48 weeks of the year, having 1 week off to enjoy a lovely family Christmas. I love to create new things so playdough making, baking, sensory play are just some of the activities children in my setting can take part in. There a range of resources to encourage children to use their imagination aswell as develop other skills. Additional out of hours care is available upon request.

About our tiney childminder
About me: I have worked in private nurseries for years. before nursery work I was a passenger assistant which saw me accompanying vulnerable children to and from school via taxi, I had a regular run to the blind school with 3 wonderful partially sighted children which I found very rewarding.
About my home: I have a large conservatory full of exciting resources to keep children engaged. I have a good sized garden with outdoor experiences and a sensory shed, aswell as offering daily walks.

Wellbeing champion
I have done child mental health training and have been a wellbeing champion in my last nursery, I believe children should be allowed to feel and express every emotion just as adults do before having time to self regulate and calm down. I have a lovely quiet reading area in my setting which includes a feeling chart and mirrors, I will do exercise and yoga with the children daily to enhance their wellbeing.
5 years + experience
I have worked my way up from an apprentice to a fully qualified early years practitioner. I started my training in a baby room where I spent 2 years caring for babies as young as 4 months, I then spent a year in the toddler room (2-3s) which I loved before moving to my last work place to do 2 years in preschool (3-5s) helping the children become school ready.
Sensory play
I love watching the childrens facial expressions when they have their hands in a bowl of flour,water and oil trying to mix it to become playdough, they go from disgust to the proudest smile when they finally complete it and can see that they have just independently made playdough. I love finding new sensory activities aswell as creating my own to allow the children to experience new things.

In this neighbourhood
I am located just around the corner from the Grange school, so the huge field and canal is on my doorstep for lovely walks. The Netherton activity centre & library is just a 10 minute walk from my house which will be getting accessed on a weekly basis allowing the children to choose which books they would like to read in my setting each week.
