About this home

Hi! My name is MĂ©lanie and I run La Petite Bulle tiney home bilingual nursery! With years of experience looking after children, I am very happy to be able to welcome your little ones in my home for them to have fun, explore, create friendships, learn French as well as the Early Years curriculum and develop physically and emotionally in a safe and protected environment!

About our tiney childminder

The nursery is spacious with the main play area in the front room where children will find plenty of toys and activities ready to support play time and learning whilst having fun in a safe environmenty! The kitchen is used for preparing meals, eating and doing exciting, messy activities like painting, collage, face painting, T-shirt design and much more! đŸ‘©â€đŸŽš The garden is a place to have the freedom to play in a completely secure environment, learn about nature and do a little bit of gardening đŸŒ±

Unique highlights

Children will learn French as part of their daily activities, in a very organic way like bilingual children and along side the British Early Years curriculum

Nature loving

As a Nature lover, children can expect to spend a lot of time playing outdoors. A lot of thought has also been given to create a sustainable space and wooden toys have been chosen over plastic as much as possible

Firm believer that well-being comes from inside, La Petite Bulle runs short meditation and Yoga sessions, both formidable ways to keep children joyful and grounded at the same time

MĂ©lanie has run the French Club once a week after school. This was an extremely popular club for children 4-7 years old and was done on a purely voluntary basis
MĂ©lanie planned each session carefully so the children were fully engaged and she was always keen to make sure the children had the best experiences. Activities in the club included; lots of practical activities as well as verbal explanations and repetition. Many of the children talked enthusiastically about the club and what they had done, including tasting French biscuits, listening to French pop music, as well as speaking French! At the end of each block sessions, MĂ©lanie diligently wrote a brief summary for each child about how they had got on at the club and what they had enjoyed or excelled at. This gave the parents good feedback about what their child had achieved and the feedback from parents and children was very positive. I would not hesitate to recommend MĂ©lanie to run a similar club or work with other children, her calm and gentle manner would encourage even the shyest child as well as engaging the more gregarious.

I have known MĂ©lanie since September 2011 when our daughters commenced reception together at Ashmead Primary school. I had started a degree and asked MĂ©lanie to look after my daughter. Afternoons with MĂ©lanie included painting, baking and exploring the parks and much more. MĂ©lanie provided a personal service and was respectful of our family’s cultural traditions whilst being attentive to my daughter’s needs and enhancing her personal development. I held confidence in MĂ©lanie that she would safeguard my daughter and always provided a professional and thoughtful approach. I felt that MĂ©lanie made my work life balance easier and felt fortunate to leave my daughter in her care. I always felt MĂ©lanie promoted independence and empowered my daughter to be confident. MĂ©lanie also used French language with my daughter which has proved useful as her father is French speaking. Home cooked fresh food was provided and MĂ©lanie maintained an organised and clean home environment. MĂ©lanie provided me with evidence of achievements and photos of my daughter’s day. MĂ©lanie offered excellent child care and her kindness and care was exemplary. As my daughter grew we continued to maintain the relationship and now our daughters are friends and we enjoy meeting up. My daughter always came home happy having been well cared for. MĂ©lanie is a kind, warm, loving and energetic woman. MĂ©lanie has a gift with children and her organisation skills and resourcefulness are very effective.

I (nervously) visited a number of settings before deciding where to send my 14 month old daughter. I soon as I walked in to Melanie's home and was in her calming and kind presence, I knew this was the place to send my daughter. Over the course of those first few weeks, I went from working mum guilt at not being with my child, to realising that sending her to Melanie was one of the greatest acts of parenthood I have done for her. Melanie cares deeply about the children in her care, sees them as individuals, and provides an opportunity for them to thrive. Each of the children has developed deep friendships with each other, which is a result of the environment Melanie creates for them. She communicates excellently, and provides a loving, stimulating and nurturing environment in which my daughter has thrived. She is one in a million, and we don't know how we would work as a family without her.

Melanie has been taking care of our son, Caspar for more than a year, since he was 10 months old and she has been absolutely amazing. He bonded really well with her from the outset and I can see she genuinely cares about the children who are in her charge, for example communicates promptly on anything which may affect the child e.g illness, change in sleep/eating patterns and and behaviour changes. She also keeps our son engaged having various activities to stimulate him, e.g creative activities related to special dates in the calendar such as Black History month, Mother’s Day
etc and lots of outings to farms, museums and local libraries just to name a few. Academically, Caspar has learnt a lot being able to speak in both French and English and is able to count in both languages up to 10 since he was about 18months. Melanie also does follow the individual child’s interest and I saw her encouraging his love of dinosaurs and some of his friends interest in arts and crafts. I can’t recommend Melanie highly enough!

Melanie has been been looking after our son Eli since he was 11 months old (20 months). Eli is always so happy at Melanie’s and is always engaging in fun and interesting things, such as crafts, park visits, nature walks, music and dancing, yoga and gardening. She is incredibly attentive to the needs of the children in her care and makes every effort to be child led, encouraging individual development. Melanie is a real ray of sunshine and brings brightness and laughter to the children’s day, they are all kind and compassionate toddlers. Eli has become a confident linguist, his language skills in both English and French are developing and he loves being outdoors, something Melanie encourages. He is both physically and mentally fulfilled and enjoys the company of the children in Melanie’s care. He settled straight away and we feel privileged to have found Melanie to care for Eli as she is an exceptional childminder and a wonderful influence on our son.

Whilst my children were under Melanie's care, my heart felt at ease. Melanie is an excellent childminder. The setting is lovely, clean, warm and inviting. During their time with her, Melanie engaged my boys in lots of creative projects which my children enjoyed, and learned alongside playing. Melanie provided nutritious meals for my children, and they also enjoyed time in her garden. It's hard to put into precise words just how much our time with Melanie meant to me. She is conscientious, considerate, with excellent communication, and kind. I recommend her very highly.

I’ve known Melanie for a couple of years now, she was initially looking after my older sons and now she will be looking after my 1 year old too. Melanie is a very loving, caring and professional childminder and my sons are always happy to be with her. Her set up is great, she has a lovely clean flat with a garden downstairs for outdoors playing but she also goes for walks in the park. She always puts the health and safety of the children first and cooks healthy meals for them. I would definitely recommend Melanie to anyone who is looking for high quality childminding services and peace of mind that their child will be very well looked after.
