About my home

I have set up Little Heroes Home Nursery for families to feel secure and excited when they leave their child or children. My nursery is warm, bright, fun and full of energy. I have over 10 years experience working with children in the Early Years. I focus on learning through play. Every day their are opportunitues for fun, exciting and stimulating activities for all ages. Outdoor play, water and sand play, sensory, messy play and much more to participate in throughout the day.

Unique highlights

I love and have a passion for cooking and experimenting with food from all around the world. Your child will be participating cooking and baking once a week.

Lunches, snacks and tea are included and are always home made, balanced and healthy.

Montessori method of teaching

I follow Montessori principles in planning topics, assessing the children’s progress and planning future work. I believe in developing the child’s initiative and respect for themselves and for others. The children choose their own activities and are free to be inside or outdoors. I believe that children learn and develop in their own ways and at their own rates, and I promote this through every moment of our day. From the youngest age children learn lots of useful skills including pouring their own drink, serving their own food, choosing how much they eat. We practice spreading, peeling, chopping, baking, washing up, setting the table, mopping, sweeping, polishing etc. to make them independent.

Sensory, messy play.

Sensory, messy play is one of my favourites and my strength. This is an area where your child's inner self comes out. Rest assured your child will learn to make choices, having a go and taking part to develop social skill and support their Personal and Social development in may ways through messy play. Just to let you know I do let them get messy so please pack extra clothes!

I love taking children on outings and believe this is a fundamental part of every day activities. Your child will be visiting, libraries, shopping, trips to the park and farm or local activities such as toddler class or soft play.

Outdoor play

I have a large outdoor area with a play house and slide. We also explore our mud kitchen to implement Forest School activities. The garden is set up to cover all the areas of the EYFS to support their learning and development from mathematics to expressive art and design, reading and music for literacy and more.

Relaxing and excersing our minds is a fun way to take part in our daily routine. It is so important to come together and have a calm, quiet time.

Dancing and music.

We love dancing in our house! Let's put the music on and dance away. This is fun and great to get the children to build their gross motor skills and enjoy themselves.
