Tiney Briar Cottage is located within a short walking distance from St Helen’s C of E primary school. Perfect for parents to drop off and collect who use this school.
We also take full advantage of our location. Daily walks in the paddock across from our setting, visits to the local farm shop in the holidays to choose our own fruit and veg, visits to the lakes to feed ducks and spot wildlife, including some endangered species.
We love Montessori style play areas and have modelled our setting from this. Wooden toys and furniture, open ended toys, set up encouraging independence and confidence.
Inclusivity is one or our highest priorities. Ensure EVERY child feels equal, heard and celebrated.
Part of our curriculum is to ensure daily walks, emotional check ins as well as targeting all the areas of learning through activities and open ended play.
We are located opposite a paddock. We will take daily after school walks to spot horses, sheep, cows and tractors.
Every half term we will feature a different country learning about religion, language, cultural activities, food, music, community, animals, clothing through books, videos and other media resources. The children will take it in turns choosing a country from the “hat” for the next half term.
I have worked as a Nanny for over a decade. I bring all the positives from nannying, including keeping the numbers low to ensure one to one time with each child. Working directly with one family at a time gave me first hand experience at how important communication between parents and childcarers is.
