I have a large and welcoming play room at the back of our home that's dedicated to childminding: full of toys, sensory experiences, books and learning opportunities. We enjoy regular outings throughout the local area, such as the library and the Triangle leisure centre.
I also have good links with another local childminder - and really enjoy buddying up for fun local outings. We enjoy lots of messy play activities together, and create lots of opportunities for the little ones to make friends.
Before being a childminder I worked in Social Work for 17 years – until my team devoted to play work and parent support was dispersed.
My specialty was in Video Interaction Guidance, and I am trained in child-led play that promotes self-esteem and confidence.
I have worked with children all my life: from a babysitter, Nursery Assistant, to singing sessions in my daughter’s pre-school.
We have a warm and loving home, and two enthusiastic children of our own who love to join in the fun.
We have a very large secure garden with grass and an astroturf area. This is where we enjoy sand play, and all sorts of sensory and messy activities. There is loads of room for scooting fun!
We are a musical house! I am a singer, and away from childminding I perform locally for many different charities and events.
My home environment is founded on my beliefs, and previous professional experience in supporting children’s emotional well-being,with a focus on the principles of child-led play. I’m not afraid of mess and imaginative roleplay – as these are the ways that children learn to express the ideas, wishes and feelings that are fundamental for growing minds.

We are close to parks, playgrounds and shops - and are a short walking distance from the centre of town. There are bus and train links to Haywards Heath and Brighton, and all sorts of nature spots and woodland for us to explore closer to home! We are also only a ten minute walk to the Gattons Infant School, and only a little further away than that is Southway Junior.
