About our tiney childminder
My career in childcare has spanned over 30 years! I have predominantly worked in nurseries, working my way up from 3rd in charge to deputy to nursery manager. One of my proudest Management roles was at an Outstanding rated, Nursery World, award-winning nursery. I have also worked as a nanny, in a creche and at an after school club. I know every stage of the early years inside out and am well practised in maximising children’s learning and development.

Yvonne has looked after our little 2 year old girl for good few months now. She is a lovely lady, warm, calm, experienced and has provided a happy 'home from home' childcare. She is organising variety of activities, taking out our daughter on daily walks to the park, library or soft play centres. Our daughter is thriving in Yvonne’s setting, quickly learning through fun and play. Yvonne has kept us fully updated on what our daughter has been doing during the day and provided plenty of photos. Yvonne has been an amazing child minder to our daughter for quite a while. She is extremely thorough and professional, a great communicator both to us as parents, and to our daughter, who's grown very attached, and enjoys every day she spends at daycare. We've noticed she is very creative with varying locations as part of daily routines, inhouse and outdoor activities, social play and events, and even meals. She gives us thorough daily reports, as well as progress summaries based on child developmental milestones, and even gives us advice when we ask. We wanted to write to share our experience of having you as our chosen caregiver for our daughter. Firstly, we feel the context is important because we were only visiting the UK for the summer and were therefore looking for someone that could quickly reassure and settle our daughter into their care, because we needed short-term childcare, I didn’t have the luxury of having a month to settle her in. And we were pleased to say we instantly felt that connection with you when we came round for the inspection-your warm gentle and reassuring manner as well as the lovely set up in your home. Your experience as a hands-on practitioner as well as a leader of practitioners was a huge draw and comes across in your calm and confident approach. The updates throughout the day as well as the detailed report card at the end of each day was always a joy to read. We could see that Amali had been engaged throughout the entire day with more educational activities than we would ever have been able to provide. Photos of outdoor play as well as choosing and reading books in the library and thinking of activities and toys that kept her engaged and happy all day. It was also a pleasure to know that your home-cooked meals were full of flavour and variety as she loves to eat and we know she was happy as she ate almost everything with you. We couldn’t be happier with our choice and wouldn’t hesitate to bring Amali back should we be staying in the same area again. We wish you all the very best in growing your home Nursery-we have no doubt that it will be a huge success.

Having a son with a speech delay and very specific behaviours, made me anxious when trying to find the right childminder for him. In previous childcare settings, my son has often been misunderstood resulting in his needs going unmet. However, at Yvonne’s childcare setting, he settled in very quickly and developed a good relationship with her. She was very patient and sensitive to my son’s needs and accommodated them accordingly. Yvonne provided regular updates with photos throughout the day which I greatly appreciated and gave me peace of mind and she always informed me of any planned activities she had for the day. Although my son only attended sporadically during a three month period, his communication improved in some areas and his behaviour was always a lot calmer after spending the day there. I hope to use Yvonne’s childcare setting in the future as I was very pleased with her provisions and it was such a joy to see my son enjoying his time there.
